Brandberg Quartz

The Brandberg mountains rise out of the red desert to form the highest range in Namibia. The summit, Königstein, German for "King's Stone", stands at over 2,500 metres. The bottom picture (left, courtesy of Nasa) is from space and shows the perfect circular form. These mountains were always held sacred and are famed for ancient rock paintings and engravings.

The indiginous Damara people named the mountain Dâures, which means "Burning Mountain". Brandberg is German for "Fire Mountain", because of its beautiful orange glow at sunset. The Herero people named Brandberg, Omukuruvaro "Mountain of the Gods".

This chunky Brandberg is a lavender amethyst flame with calcite growth interference on the base and bottom of 1 side, 2 time-lines (past) and at least 2 fairly stationary bubbles (enhydro). A bright, slightly smokey, larger Brandberg DT with self-healing, small chlorite inclusion in the main face and bright, vivid rainbows.

The upper tip has some old damage and self-healing, but the tip is intact. At least 3 moving bubbles, 2 in crystal shaped "negatives", the rarest enhydro and a type of manifestation crystal.

The inner "crystals" with moving bubbles are clearly negative manifestation enhydros, but others have the slightly crisper sides of solid internal crystals, the slightly more common, manifestation formation.

In total there are at least 15 of these perfect inner DT'S, ranging in length from 3 to 15mm. Dozens of tiny crystals also float in the near water clear quartz, a loupe reveals the intricacy and unusual arrangements of these.

This larger Brandberg DT has both tips intact, at least 3 moving bubbles (one in the larger pictures is marked), symmetrical Isis face, bright rainbows and extraordinary etching at both tips.

The 5 sided Isis face is not as common as you might imagine and has special significance in relation to crystals working with humans, indicated by the "human" number, 5. The number 5 also indicates the feminine principle and regeneration.

Phi, the Divine ratio, is the ratio of the segments in a 5-pointed star (pentagram) and was considered sacred to Plato and Pythagoras mystery schools. Each larger (or smaller) section is related by the phi ratio. This is an indication of the regeneration association. So the number 5 is also closely related to the golden proportion, as are all quartz crystals, their points angled the same as the perfectly proportioned Great Pyramids, which also conform to phi.

Brandberg Manifestation Grounding Enhydro

Although this crystal has no easily found bubbles, internal cavities of this type are caused only by liquid inclusion. What is amazing in this crystal, is that at one end of these inclusions they are characteristically irregular and curved, but some, at least four, flower into pristine crystal shapes.This rare, crystal shaped hollow is called a "negative", a perfect crystal "inside out", and is a type of manifestation crystal. This has to be seen to be appreciated.

We have seen many enhydros with no bubbles and many negatives, but never one where the cavities transform to the geometric perfection of crystals.

The super bright, water clear quartz is the perfect setting for this truly unique interior. At least four, tiny DT's can also be found floating in water clear quartz, the manifestation formation. The main face a a large, eight sided grounding formation. These are used to earth higher frequencies.

Brandberg Smoky and Amethyst Flame Skeletal Negative Manifestation Enhydro Harlequin Self-Healed Sceptre with Clear Grossular Garnets

Where the garnet is druze it is hard to distinguish from quartz. Several separate and slightly larger garnets are easy to identify. Characteristic indented negative water pockets and perhaps internal crystals, though it is possible these are also negatives. One "internal crystal" clearly has a fairly stationary bubble. While searching for these I noticed another feature only visible with a loupe. Fine, hair-like darkish rutiles curiously nearly all aligned horizontally.

No ambiguity about the spectacular Sceptre formation. Any old damage has self healed, producing beautifully refined layering and etching. One of the tips skeletal indentations is now filled with garnet druze. This crystal looks especially ancient and the Brandbergs are one of the oldest geological formations on earth.
