Tulasi Devi

Devi translates from Sanskrit as "goddess." The 5000 year old Sankrit Vedas describe her as the archetypal "forest goddess."

"Oh Tulasi, just by touching you, one's body becomes pure. Any person who makes beautiful japamala [meditation beads] or neck beads out of Tulasi wood, and uses them, even if they do not perform any worship of Sri Vishnu, all of their activities become unlimitedly fruitful." Skanda Purana (3000BC)

All the Tulasi beads are hand carved (no machining at all), and have a brass screw fastener.

Rudrakshas (elaco carpus seeds) have been worn in the East for thousands of years as talismans of protection, good fortune and spiritual development. Rudra is a name for Lord Siva, and aksha means eyes, so their name is "the eyes of Siva". The ancient, Sanskrit Siva purana (history) explains how Siva was meditating on how to relieve mankind of its suffering. Warm tears of deep compassion fell from Siva's eyes and wherever they fell, Rudraksha trees sprouted. Five mukhi, "faces" meaning natural sections of the seed, are considered to be Lord Siva.
