There are 7 notes in music, 7 major planets in astrology, 7 colours of the rainbow, 7 traditional vowels (alpha to omega), 7 metals of the alchemical process (base lead to pure gold) and 7 crystal systems - hexagonal, rhombohedral, triclinic, monoclinic, orthorhombic, tetragonal and cubic.  Chakra kits can heal, balance and energise this much neglected portion of our make-up. The human body has 7 major energy centres, or chakras. Chakra is the Sanskrit word for wheel or disc, indicating both the shape and dynamic nature of these subtle vortexes. The Chakras both facilitate and represent a process of sevenfold self-transformation. For centuries this knowledge was restricted to mystery religions and the confines of temple walls. Because it is now relatively commonplace, we should not disregard its great significance.

Each chakra resonates with a particular frequency of vibration and are an integral part of any understanding of vibrational medicine. Chakras are balanced by inviting them back to their natural frequency. The physical body is a machine made of different but integral parts that are expertly designed to be self-correcting. The idea is to maintain balance and free-flow of energy, as exemplified in advanced martial arts and hatha yoga. The chakras are an energetic gateway, allowing for the ebb and flow of prana, chi or ki, the energy necessary for the person to operate within this bodily machine. They function like valves, regulating the flow of energy through our energy system. The functioning of the chakras reflects decisions and actions we make and vice-versa. We experience the world around us through these perceptual filters. The worldview of one whose energy is primarily focused on the base chakra, will be vastly different from a person whose energy has risen to the crown chakra.

Find a quiet place where you are unlikely to be disturbed for at least 10 minutes. Turn off your phone. Lie on your back and breathe deeply and slowly as this relaxes the body and slows physiological functions. If certain music or another technique relaxes you, include that at this point. Imagine a healing white light entering the body on the in-breath and all stresses and fears leaving the body on the out-breath. This prepares your body to receive maximum benefit from the vibration of the stones.  

Place each stone on its respective chakra, the location of the chakra and correct colour are shown on the above picture. Sometimes people find this easier with the help of another person, or use tape to hold the stones in position.

As a prelude to meditation or spiritual practice, raise your energies by doing this upwards from chakra 1 to 7. For general health or to just "set you up" for the day, do from 7 to 1. This stage is an extra and not essential if you prefer to just relax or even snooze. The colour and energy of the stones naturally resonates with each chakra, restoring structure, harmony and balance to your entire system. Physiological change of the gross body can take up to 3 months, so regular use for this period will produce optimum physical results. Benefits to the energy system are much quicker.

Amplification techniques:

1. Place both hands over each stone in turn and visualise light, the same colour as the stone, passing from the hands, through the stone and entering into the chakra until you can clearly visualise it as a large, glowing sphere of the same colour. 2. Place inward pointing clear quartz crystals around each stone. If you have many quartz points, they can be placed around each chakra stone, otherwise one chakra stone. Quartz naturally amplifies and structures any energy it contacts.

For physical problems, concentrate on the chakra closest to the problem area. An example of this would be the heart chakra for respiratory or heart problems. Similarly, concentrate on the chakra that governs qualities you may want to work on or develop - see the keywords below. An example of this would be working with the 3^rd chakra to help clear emotional issues. Have a clear intention and mental picture of your desired result.
