The Indian Sandalwood tree (Santalum Album, candana in Sanskrit) is native to Southern India and prized the world over as producing the finest Sandalwood fragrance. The demand for this exceptional Sandalwood made it the second most expensive wood in the world, only Agarwood costs more.

Sandalwood is not only prized for its perfume, but also for its medicinal properties. A natural anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antimicrobial.

According to a study published in Planta Medica, Sandalwood, when inhaled or applied to the skin, triggers a mild increase in blood oxygen saturation,  breathing rate, eye-blink rate, pulse rate and skin temperature believed to enhance mental functioning. The compound associated with these physiological effects is known as alpha-santalol.
220mm, 8" long sticks, each weighs just over a gram with a burn time of around 40 minutes.
