A relatively new find from the "Cave
of Wonders", 800km north of Thunder
Bay in the Boreal Forest of Ontario in Canada.
From deposits over 1.5 billion
years old, the Meso-proterozoic age. This makes it one of the oldest crystals
ever found.
X-ray diffraction has been used to identify 23 minerals,
though much of the crystal comprises amethyst, citrine and a rare green quartz
type. The high percentage of
metals in auralite is believed to be a result of ancient meteorites (containing
rare metallic ores) that crashed into the Earth. Over time, these elements
dissolved and seeped into the earth, becoming concentrated in certain
locations. The presence of gold supports this idea.
Formed with intricate etching and attractive chevron phantom
banding. Auralite 23 possesses the properties of its constituent minerals plus
unique properties resulting from their synergy. It also enhances and magnifies
the energies of other crystals in proximity to it, especially (but not limited
to) those that are in it.
There is some disagreement as to the exact composition of
auralite, but all agree it usually contains at least 23 minerals, but never
less than 17.
Titanite, cacoxenite, lepidocrosite, ajoite, hematite, magnetite,
pyrite, goethite, pyrolusite, gold, silver, platinum, nickel, copper, iron, limonite,
shpalerite, covellite, chalcopyrite, gialite, epidote, bornite, and rutile.
The Gemological Institute of America, which specializes in
identifying inclusions in diamonds, have had samples of auralite 23 for nearly
two years. They had never seen gold traces in amethyst before. Their labs
agreed with previous tests but felt they may be incomplete, giving the
following list of 35 elements.
Silver
(Ag), Gold (Au), Aluminum (Al), Barium (Ba), Beryllium (Be), Bismuth (Bi),
Calcium (Ca), Cadmium (Cd), Cobalt (Co), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe),
Mercury (Hg), Potassium (K), Lanthanum, (La), Magnesium (Mg), Manganese (Mn),
Molybdenum (Mo), Sodium (Na), Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P), Lead (Pb),
Palladium (Pd), Sulfur (S), Antimony (Sb), Scandium (Sc), Strontium (Sr),
Thorium (Th), Titanium (Ti), Thalium (Tl), Uranium (U), Vanadium (V), Tungsten
(W), Zinc (Zn) and Zirconium (Zr).
"If one is fortunate enough to become an Earth-keeper
for a quartz crystal containing gold, the uses are extensive. The properties of
gold and quartz crystal are combined and produce "dynamite"
results."
Auralite is a transformational crystal. It enhances healing,
personal development, intuition and all types of energy work. It can be used on
all chakras with excellent results and is said to initiate and/or awaken kundalini energy.
"Auralite
feels like a dissolving of one’s cares and worries - a release of patterns of anxiety,
resentment, judgment, depression and defeat. As this dissolution occurs,
one feels an upliftment of one’s spirit and an awakening to the potentialities
for a new life. This rising of optimism and new hope is felt all the way into
one’s cellular consciousness. The body itself is awed and made reverent by the
clearing of the veils of illusion and the dawning of the presence of one’s true
self, one’s Higher Self.” Robert Simmons, "Stones
of the New Consciousness”.
